One Day at a Time: For People in Recovery from Addictions

Recovery is a way of life born of commitment and grace.

At Equinection, the experiences with horses illuminate ways you can be more honest, bring awareness to your motives and behaviors, and strengthen your ability to honor the commitments you have made to live a sober life. Rigorous honesty is an essential tenet in recovery.

With our One Day at a Time workshop, you will recognize beliefs that no longer align with your core values. You can free yourself to live an authentic life by releasing your attachment to these beliefs. We guide you, as you interact with the horses and your peers, to let go of these beliefs.

The experience at Equinection leads you to reconnect with your courage, wisdom and strength.

When you attend the One Day at a Time workshop, we support you in your recovery by teaching you to:

One Day at a Time: An Equinection Workshop for Treatment Professionals

A treatment professional embodies the absolute reality of recovery, illuminating a path for people struggling with addictions.  The choice to recover cannot be forced, yet as a professional, you hold the door open for your clients to choose change.  This is demanding work on all levels - emotional, physical, and spiritual.  In One Day At a Time, you will learn more ways to sink more deeply into yourself, finding innate strength and wisdom to nurture your own fires of hope, peace, and faith.

At Equinection, the work with horses encourages you to become aware of all you convey in your interactions with them.  This clarity allows a horse to trust and follow you and this is the same awareness that allows your clients to trust and feel inspired by you.  One Day At a Time will help you feel revitalized and re-energized about bringing yourself forward in your work and in your life.  You will learn how to offer higher service to your clients, not by receiving new information, but by mining an internal source of knowledge.

Joining with a horse touches your heart.  Their gentle and curious natures guide you throughout the process.  There is no riding or horse experience necessary; all interaction with the horses happens from the ground.
