What is Equinection?

Equinection is both a place and a series of life-changing programs.  Located on a 112-acre farm in Green Mountain, NC., it is an exquisite place nestled in a secluded mountain valley. The land is ancient and sacred - the perfect place to do this deep, grounded work.

Equinection is not therapy; it is a unique educational opportunity offered mostly through programs that run three to five days.  Participants stay in a welcoming, fully-equipped guesthouse onsite, where they are immersed in the teachings and able to anchor their experiences.  The lessons learned at Equinection continue to unfold long after leaving this nourishing, mountain retreat.

Director

Karen Head (M.Ed), owner and program director, partners with horses to teach people to profoundly deepen self-awareness.  She is a lifelong horsewoman with a rich life experience and comprehensive credentials in Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL).  Karen offers several different programs that help people develop more awareness of body, mind, and spirit.  Through interaction with the horses and the expressive arts, participants reconnect with their strengths, insights, and innate wisdom.  These are tender, intimate programs guided by Karen as a compassionate leader, and co-facilitated by the horses.
