Driving Directions to Equinection

 

Do Not Use MapQuest, Google Maps, or any GPS to determine your route to Equinection.  It is likely that you will be guided to another part of the galaxy.  The names of our roads have changed and technology has not been able to keep up with the changes.  Use MapQuest, etc. to find your way to Burnsville, North Carolina, then follow the directions below to find Equinection.

There are two routes to Equinection, one on the east side of Burnsville and one on the west side of Burnsville; both are curvy roads.  Although the mileage might seem minimal, give yourself the allotted time to travel the winding road to Equinection.  We are looking forward to your arrival!

From Asheville, Johnson City, Knoxville, Atlanta and points West of Burnsville: From Interstate 26:

Take NC Exit 9 East toward Burnsville (this is Hwy 19, then becomes Hwy 19E).  Drive 13.7 miles (15-20 min).

This is the gas station that sits 1/10 of a mile before the turn. 

Turn LEFT on Jack's Creek Rd.  Reset your odometer and drive 7.5 miles (15-20 min).  If you see Peterson Branch Road, you have gone too far on Jack's Creek Road.

Turn LEFT on Sweetwater Rd. and go 1/4 mile.

You will see the Equinection sign on your right.

Turn RIGHT on Piercy Rd.  Piercy road ends on Equinection property.  Drive up the hill to the barn.  Our office is in the barn, with the entrance facing the parking area.

From Charlotte, Spruce Pine, Hickory and points East of Burnsville:

Just as you enter Burnsville on 19E, you will come to a traffic light.  On the right side is the United Community Bank, on the left side is a power station.  Turn RIGHT at this light onto NC 197 North (toward Bakersville/Red Hill).  Go 3.9 miles (5-8 min. you will drive over a mountain and back into a valley).

Turn LEFT on Clearmont School Rd. (The street sign is on the hillside to your right and the turn is just after the entrance to the Yancey County Convenience Center.  There is a left-hand turn only lane).  Clearmont School Rd. makes a "T" into Jack's Creek Rd. (1.1 mile, 3 min).

Turn RIGHT on Jack's Creek Rd. Go 8/10 mile (2-3 min).

Turn LEFT on Sweetwater Rd. Go 3/10 mile, and you will see the Equinection sign.

Turn RIGHT on Piercy Rd.  Piercy road ends on Equinection property.  Drive up the hill to the barn.  Our office is in the barn, with the entrance facing the parking area.
