THE LEAD MARE
Intuitive Feminine Leadership

For women seeking to improve personal leadership skills
Third Saturday of the month from
JUNE to DECEMBER, 2008

The Mare as Leader
The lead mare guides the herd to water and nourishment. She alerts the herd to danger and teaches the foals respect. Horses survive because they do not question their intuition, they are always present to the moment, and they release traumatic events in order to return to a life of grazing. Experiential learning with horses teaches women to trust their intuitive ability to know, to relate, to be present, and thus, to lead.

First, Be a Leader to yourself
Intuition – nurturing and organizing – seeing both details and the bigger picture – these are all great qualities for leadership.  They are all traditionally feminine qualities. Beginning with ourselves is the true starting place. As we – as women – develop strong interpersonal leadership skills, our strengths will become powerful forces in the workplace, the family, and society.

The Workshops
On the third Saturday for six months, we will gather as leaders and devote a full day to learning from horses, bonding and developing as a group, stepping into our power, and realizing our personal leadership abilities. Each day, we will begin with a reflective and grounding activity with the horses. Through the day, we will use expressive arts, movement, and meditation, to support our experience, realization, and fulfillment as leaders.

Each month, we build on the experiences of the previous sessions.  Our goal is to be intimate with the wisdom of the horse, and to mine our unique strengths as leaders.  Each of us will learn more about our individual talents and gifts; about trusting intuition; and about taking a leadership role in life.

A Supportive Format:
The program will include six full Saturday sessions, 9am - 4pm; one group conference call per month; and two individual support calls per month.
